First 4 Israeli export consortia to begin operating

The program aims at boosting exports by NIS 360 million. The first consortia will operate in China, Europe, and the US.

The first consortia for marketing abroad by Israeli exporters will begin operating soon. Ten more consortia are being set up. It is believed that these consortia will boost Israeli exports by NIS 360 million, by leveraging competitive advantages.

The consortia four consortia functioning consortia are as follows:

  • A consortium of nine enterprise security software companies to operate in the US.
  • A consortium of six IT, voice, and video communications infrastructure companies to operate in China.
  • A consortium of six packaging companies to operate in Central and Eastern Europe.
  • A consortium of six companies to set up education and training services in China.

    Other consortia include:

    • A consortium of 11 boutique wineries to operate in Europe.
    • A consortium of eight Israeli-Arab ethnic food companies to operate in Western Europe and the US.
    • A consortium of seven environmental technology companies to work in the water industry in Europe.
    • A consortium of six environmental technology companies to work in the sewage treatment industry.
    • A consortium of seven stone companies to market Israeli stone brands in the US.
    • A consortium of six footwear companies to market shoes in Japan.
    • A consortium of six furniture companies to operate in Western Europe.
    • A consortium of seven toy companies to operate in Europe.
    • A consortium of five companies to establish model training farms.

    The consortia are designed on a geographical or industry basis. They are supported by a consortia fund, a new Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor financing program. The Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute will supervise and monitor the consortia.

    Each consortia includes at least five unaffiliated companies. Government funding of half the marketing costs is designed to reduce risk in exports. The Export Institute is organizing a series of marketing and information events to bring more exporters into the program.
