Xloom raises $3m

Xloom Communications launched Blueflame, the world's first opto-electrical integrated circuit (OEIC) a few weeks ago.

Start-up Xloom Communications Ltd. has raised $3 million in its second financing round. Mariner Investment Group Inc. led the round with a $1.5 million investment, alongside existing investors, Hyperion Israel Advisors and the Office of the Chief Scientist, which previously invested $3.5 million in the company.

A few weeks ago, Xloom launched Blueflame, the world's first opto-electrical integrated circuit (OEIC). Xloom CEO Avner Badihi unveiled Blueflame at the SPIEThe International Society for Optical Engineering - Photonics West 2005 conference in Silicon Valley a few weeks ago.

Xloom aims to develop ultra-fast optical connections for telecommunications, using its innovative technology. The company has 23 employees at its offices in Tel Aviv and California.
