Intel Capital invests in start-up Safend

Safend provides comprehensive end-point security enterprise solutions.

Safend, an Israel-based end-point security company, has received an investment from Intel Capital, Intel Corporation's strategic investment program. The investment amount was not disclosed, but Safend stated that the capital will be used to expand operations and product marketing worldwide.

"Using data security systems but ignoring the end-points is like locking the door in your home but leaving the windows wide open," said Safend CEO Gil Sever. "True security can only be achieved when all aspects of data leakage are addressed. Safend focuses exclusively on helping IT professionals identify unsecured end-points and provide solutions that ensure that security.

"We're very excited that Intel recognizes the value of Safend's products, and we look forward to putting their investment to work for creating a safer computing infrastructure."

"Intel's investment in Safend reflects Intel Capital's contribution to encouraging availability of security solutions on Intel Mobility platforms," said Shlomo Caine, director of Intel Capital Strategic Investments - Israel and Eastern Europe.

Safend, headquartered in Tel Aviv, Israel with offices in Philadelphia, provides comprehensive end-point security enterprise solutions. The company's first product, USB Protector, provides comprehensive security policy enforcement for enterprises.
