Ohio delegation to study cooperation with Israel

The delegation includes Akron Mayor Donald L. Plusquellic, who is also president of the US Conference of Mayors.

A delegation from Ohio, guests of the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce, will examine commercial cooperation with Israel in biotechnology, polymers, and other fields.

The delegation includes Akron Mayor Donald L. Plusquellic, who is also president of the US Conference of Mayors, Akron Deputy Mayor of Economic Development Robert Y. Bowman, University of Akron Administration VP Research and. Dean of the Graduate School Dr. George Newkome, and Ohio-Israel Chamber of Commerce president Howard Gudell.

Israeli Chambers of Commerce president Uriel Lynn said Israel was far from fulfilling its export potential to the US, because Israel's focus until now was on the East and West Coasts, and that the Midwest had great potential.

Lynn proposed sending a Chambers of Commerce delegation to make a reciprocal visit to Ohio this year, in cooperation with the Israel Export and International Cooperation Institute and Manufacturers Association, in order to promote economic ties with the region.
