Minister of Finance Benjamin Netanyahu was close to one of the bomb blasts in London. Prime Minister Ariel Sharon called Netanyahu to see if he was all right, Netanayhu’s media advisor Amir Gilat and advisor Oren Helman told “Globes”.
The large investors conference that Netanyahu was scheduled to attend in London has been cancelled. London is paralyzed, public transport, the Underground, trains to the city and buses have been shut down, and telephone and communications periodically crash.
In response to a question, “Globes” was told that the businesspeople whom Netanyahu was scheduled to meet over the next two days still want to hold the meetings, despite the bombings, and that efforts were being made to meet their requests.
Just two days ago, Netanyahu was in Entebbe, Uganda, to commemorate his brother Yoni, who died in Operation Yonatan, the rescue of highjacked Air France passengers on July 4, 1976.
