Demand for high-tech employees up 8% in July

Demand increased in almost all high-tech employment categories.

Manpower Israel subsidiary Manpower Information Technology (MIT) reports that demand for high tech employees in July 2005 was 8.1% higher than in June, and 5.6% higher than in July 2004. The figures are based on surveys of help-wanted ads in Israel's leading daily newspapers.

Demand increased in all high-tech employment categories, except for a slight drop in demand for software engineers. The steepest rise was 21.2% for network managers and support personnel, followed by 19.3% for team leaders and project managers.

Compared with July 2004, demand fell by 36% for team leaders and project managers, 20.6% for managers, and 14.5% for computer programmers.
