IT security co Algosec seeks to hire women

Algosec seeks gender equality in employment, and offers equality in pay.

IT security solutions developer Algosec Ltd. is seeking to hire 20 new employees during the second quarter, most of whom it hopes will be women. The company is seeking software developers, support, and information security staff to provide support for its 700 international customers, and to expand in current markets and enter new ones.

The company has been growing rapidly and increased its workforce by 50% in 2010 to around 70 employees. Sales rose 75% in 2010, and it plans to hold an IPO in two years.

Algosec founder and CEO Yuval Baron said, "Algosec is undergoing rapid expansion, both in the technology and infrastructure offerings and in support for them. We have always strived for a workforce comprised equally of men and women. Women currently account for almost 40% of the company's workforce, so our goal is both worthy and achievable."

Gender equality at Algosec is also reflected in pay. Baron said, "To us, studies that show the salary gap between men and women in the public sector seem to have come from the Middle Ages." He adds that the company's flagship product, a system for managing changes in IT security policy, is run by a woman and mostly staffed by women.
