The US biotech company currently markets its products in Israel through NewPharm.
US biotech giant Gilead Sciences Inc. (Nasdaq: GILD) is in the process of opening a marketing office in Israel, sources inform "Globes." This will make it the first new generation US biotech firm to open such an office in Israel.
At present several tens of millions of dollars of the company's products are marketed annually by NewPharm, which said that the process was taking place with the company's cooperation and that partnership would continue even after Gilad sets up its branch in Israel.
Gilead Sciences, under CEO John Martin, hit the headlines in recent years through its highly effective Hepatitis C treatment.
