Drahi's Israel news channel to air in US

Jewish Life TV will air i24news on cable and satellite networks nationwide.

The English-language version of Patrick Drahi's Israeli news channel i24news will be aired in the US by Jewish Life station JLTV. JLTV is carried by several leading US cable networks, including Bright House Networks, Time Warner Cable, and Comcast, and by satellite network DirecTV Inc., giving i24news tens of millions of potential viewers.

This is the first time that the Jaffa-based i24news will be shown to an American audience via television, and not just online. i24news will be aired at 9:30 pm Eastern Standard Time and at 6:30 pm Pacific Standard Time. From next week, i24news will provide 15 hours of weekly magazine content, which will be expanded to other content.

The hook-up with JLTV will give i24news global reach, even as it is not aired in Israel for regulatory reasons.

"This is an important step for i24news, especially after just eight months, and we attach great importance to airing our content to the American audience. I hope that Israel will be the next country where we will launch the channel," says i24news CEO Frank Melloul.

i24news is also broadcast in French and Arabic.
