Amdocs wins Clearwire deal

Clearwire is building a nationwide WiMAX network in the US.

Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX) is generating revenue from its WiMAX support solutions. The company will supply its customer experience system (CES) 7.5 Portfolio products and managed services to Clearwire Corporation subsidiary Clearwire Communications LLC under a multi-year agreement. Clearwire is building a nationwide WiMAX network in the US. Amdocs did not disclose the size of the deal.

The Amdocs CES will support Clearwire's retail and wholesale business, via the CES customer management, self service, billing, mediation, ordering and other products. Amdocs will also manage Clearwire's current business support systems (BSS) and convert them to the Amdocs CES 7.5.

Amdocs head of global marketing Michael Couture said, "Amdocs' agreement with Clearwire demonstrates our leadership and commitment to 4G technology deployments to support next-generation services and business models."

Amdocs's share fell 2% yesterday to $18.80.
