Motorola moves forward on MIRS sale

An information center will be opened after investment bank Merrill Lynch has completed its estimate of MIRS' value.

Sources inform "Globes" that global corporation Motorola will open an information center for investors interested in acquiring MIRS Communications Ltd.. The center will be opened on July 15 after investment bank Merrill Lynch Israel has completed its estimate of MIRS' value and formulated a strategy for the sale.

Over the past few days Merrill Lynch has approached a range of communications companies and investors including mobile operators and offered them an opportunity to take part in the process.

Motorola decided to sell MIRS following various developments including the global economic situation, and because it is unable to set up a WiMAX cellular network in Israel.
