Better Place CEO Agassi at WEF's "Summer Davos"

Over 1,300 participants from 85 countries will attend the meeting, which is traditionally held in Asia.

The World Economic Forum summer meeting, known as "Summer Davos", will open tomorrow in Tianjin, China. The meeting will run through Wednesday.

This year's theme is "driving growth through sustainability". Over 1,300 participants from 85 countries will attend the meeting, which is traditionally held in Asia.

Among Israelis taking part in the conference are Minister of Industry, Trade and Labor Benjamin Ben-Eliezer, and electric car venture Better Place founder and CEO Shai Agassi.

This year’s program will focus on four central topics: improving competitiveness through science and technology; creating new value from business models and for future markets; facilitating economic and social change; and designing effective global, industry and regional solutions.

"Summer Davos" is actually the World Economic Forum's annual meeting of the new champions, which provides a platform for a rising generation of global leaders from business and society to contribute to broader policy discussions and engage with the world’s top business executives.

The New Champions are led by the Forum’s growing community of Global Growth Companies as well as the Communities of Technology Pioneers, Young Global Leaders and Young Scientists.
