Lapid: Who will pay for paternity leave?

Finance Minister Yair Lapid after voting against paternity leave: I favor it, but you must show me the budget source.

"The bill will cost around NIS 40 million, and I don’t like bills that no one knows how they will be financed. I also favor paternity leave, but you must show me the budget source for it," Minister of Finance Yair Lapid told “IDF Radio" (Galei Zahal), explaining why he voted against the paternity leave bill.

Commenting on the decision to release 26 Palestinian prisoners, Lapid said, "This a despicable group of murderers, but Habayit Hayehudi forced me once again to vote in favor of the release, and it was very, very hard. Everyone knew how the vote would end. I talk a lot with Naftali Bennett, and we don’t have to agree on everything, and on this subject, we don’t agree."

"IDF Radio": Is your alliance with Bennett solid on diplomatic issues?

Lapid: "From the first moment of this government, it was clear that the government was more or less homogeneous on civil matters. But there is a chasm on diplomatic matters, and we argue. This was also clear and known."
