Donald Trump mulls Eilat investment

The Eilat municipality proposed three different projects in the resort town.

Donald Trump has written to the Eilat municipality asking for information on investment opportunities in the resort town. The letter followed discussions between Trump's daughter, Ivanka Trump, and Eilat deputy mayor Eli Lankri, during her visit to Israel in May.

After the presentation, Ivanka Trump requested that the material be forwarded to her father.

Eilat Mayor Meir Yitzhak-Halevy made a presentation to Donald Trump outlining the town's potential. This week, Donald Trump sent a response, indicating that he was interested in examining investment in the town.

Lankri proposed to Trump three possible investments: construction of hotels at the eastern lagoon; construction of a convention center on a site already chosen; and participation in the planned Southern Gate project.
