Israeli military equipment maker Rafael will supply remote controlled weapon stations to the Spanish army.

Spanish firm Technobit has won a 19 million euro deal with the Spanish Armed Forces, and Rafael's products in the deal are valued at 11 million euros.

The Samson remote controlled weapon station allows a machine gunner to find targets, aim, and fire from inside a vehicle, without the need to be exposed to enemy fire. The station can be used day or night and regardless of weather conditions.

The stations are suitable for most light armored, high mobility vehicles. According to sources in Spain, the weapons stations will be loaded on local army vehicles in order to allow soldiers to perform their missions safely.

Rafael has sold over 1,000 weapon stations for both land and sea use. In addition to the IDF, the stations are used by the US Army, as well as the militaries in the UK, Australia, and other countries.
