12% of the public believes that there is no reason to change the plan for the natural gas sector, according to a survey by the Rafi Smith Institute commissioned by "Globes." The survey, conducted over the past two days, shows that even if the public does not understand the meaning of the plan itself and is unfamiliar with its details, it is being influenced by the media discourse on the subject. The most prominent figure in the survey shows that about half of the public lacks sufficient information on the subject: 31% of the respondents answered that they did not know enough, while another 15% expressed no opinion.
On the other hand, 42% think that the plan should be changed. Of those expressing an opinion, 78% believe that a change in the plan submitted to the public hearing is required.
According to the survey, the majority of those saying that a change in the agreement is necessary are over 50. 56% of those who voted for the Zionist Union party, 51% of those who voted for the Yesh Atid party, and 41% of those who voted for the Likud party in the last elections thought that the agreement should be changed.
Of those who voted for the Kulanu party, headed by Minister of Finance Moshe Kahlon, who declared that he would not take part in the decision and would not participate in votes on the gas issue, 39% said that it was necessary to change the agreement.
Young people under 30 and the haredi (ultra-Orthodox) and religiously observant public were largely unfamiliar with the issue.
