DsIT gets Israel Navy order for noise measuring system

This is the third sale of dsIT’s mobile acoustic range system.

Givat Shmuel-based company dsIT has announced an order from the Israel Navy for a system that measures ship noise signatures. The system, called mobile acoustic range (MAR), measures noise emitted into water by ships.

Such measuring is essential for military vessels, especially submarines. The test is conducted after construction of a vessel is completed, or after repairs and handling, in order to prevent detection and identification of the ship.

The system enables shipyards to detect whether changes have been made in the noise signature of ships in the course of repairs and handling.

The sale of the system is the third by dsIT. A $1 million sale of a similar system to the Spain’s Izar shipyard was recently announced.

dsIT is a software and systems company that provides software services and solutions for companies and enterprises in Israel and around the world in both the defense and civilian business fields. The company has 200 employees.

The signing of an agreement in principle for the sale of dsIT’s outsourcing activity to Taldor Group (TASE: TALD) for $6 million was recently reported.
