Q&A app Askem raises $1.3m

Microsoft Ventures invested in the round led by private investor Tal Barnoach.

Question and answer app Askem has raised $1.3 million, six months after its launch. Private investor Tal Barnoach, who previously invested in the company's seed round, led the round, and was joined by Microsoft Ventures.

Askem, which has over 360,000 users, 92% of whom are in the US, says, "Microsoft's investment will undoubtedly continue to bolster the popular visual question & answers app as it recently opened new headquarters in New York and now releases a new innovative and unique feature: Embedded questions."

The embed widget allows bloggers, journalists, and retailers to easily create and embed visually interactive polls on any website worldwide for their readers to interact with.
