Ilan Shiloah's group would want sole control of the channel.

Channel 10 this week submitted an official request to Antitrust Authority director general Prof. David Gilo for a merger with high-tech entrepreneur Ilan Shiloah. This is the first such request by the channel. Gilo's office has already given unofficial consideration to Shiloah.

Shiloah, who heads an investment group composed partly of foreigners, wants full control of Channel 10, while diluting or eliminating the share of current controlling shareholder Yossi Maiman.

Although Channel 10 is committed to the negotiations with Shiloah, it is also continuing its contacts with Lev Blavatnik and Aviv Gilad's RGE group, and a deal with this group is also nearing completion.

According to the deal with Shiloah obtained by "Globes," he is taking upon himself all of the channel's past debts and future liabilities, at a cost believed to amount to NIS 200 million.

The Antitrust Authority director general's office confirmed the particulars.
