Histadrut declares strike at Makhteshim Beersheva plant

The reasons are restructuring, lay-offs, outsourcing and the wage agreement.

The Histadrut (General Federation of Labor in Israel) has declared a strike at Beersheva plant of Makhteshim Agan Industries Ltd. (TASE: MAIN). The Histadrut said the reasons for the strike were the restructuring of the company, which includes lay-offs and additional outsourcing, and the wage agreement. No date has been set for starting the strike.

Makhteshim Agan says it is negotiating with the employees, adding that the lay-offs would not be extensive and only after discussions with the employees.
