Israel Chemicals stands to gain from higher potash prices

BPC will sell potash at $500/ton to Brazil, and Canpotex will sell potash to Southeast Asia at $525/ton.

Potash prices in Asia and Brazil are rising again, which will likely benefit Israel Chemicals Ltd. (TASE: CHIM).

JSC Belarusian Potash Company (BPC) will sell potash to Brazil for $500 per ton on March 1, compared with the company's price of $400 per ton, set in January. Canadian Potash Exports Ltd. (Canpotex) will also raise its prices for the Southeast Asian market to $525 per ton in the second quarter from the current $425 per ton. The $100 per ton price hike exceeded predictions of a $75 per ton hike.

Israel Chemicals share fell 7.9% on Monday and Tuesday, and was down another 0.43% by midday today.
