New Candidate to Manage DBS Satellite Services - Eitan Rov

His appointment to head the Postal Authority has been frozen due to the elections.

Nisco Industries general manager Eitan Rob is about to be chosen this evening as general manager of DBS Satellite Services, owned by Bezeq, Eurocom, Gilat Communications and Lidan Investments. Two days ago, the partners approved the appointment of Yaakov Kedmi of Partner, but he retracted the following day, following pressure within Partner. The partners will convene this evening at 20:00 (local time) at the offices of Eurocom general manager Shaul Elowitz.

Rob was Minister of Communications Limor Livnat’s candidate to replace Moshe Terry as Postal Authority director-general. The appointment was approved by the Authority’s board, but has not yet been passed by the government or approved by the Ben Dror committee. Due to the decision to hold early elections, the appointments procedure in government agencies has been frozen, and Rob was free to be appointed general manager of DBS Satellite Services.

Eitan Rov currently serves as general manager of Nisco Industries, a public, listed company in the electronics field. The company has fifteen subsidiaries. Rov, 38, has a bachelor’s degree in economics and statistics from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Prior to his appointment as Nisco Industries general manager, Rov served as vice president of the Nisco-Ardan group.
