Jerusalem Templar building to be converted to luxury apts

Alumot MG Engineering will dismantle and rebuild the structure. Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has bought one of the apartments.

The Jerusalem Local Planning and Building Commission has approved Alumot MG Engineering Ltd.’s plan to dismantle and rebuild a Templar style building at 8 Cremieux St. in Jerusalem’s German Colony neighborhood. The building is slated for preservation. Alumot MG will build three luxury apartments in the preserved building, and will build an adjacent building with three more apartments on the 1.2-dunam (0.3-acre) lot.

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has bought one of the apartments.

In a separate development, the Jerusalem Regional Planning and Building Commission approved for deposit a 15,000-sq.m. hotel on a 3.5-dunam (8.75-acre) lot on the Mount of Olives. The Commission previously rejected the plan in 2003, ordering the developers to adapt the building to the area, which overlooks the Old City.
