Web 2.0 software co Clarizen raises $7m

The company is developing web-based project management software.

Web 2.0 start-up Clarizen Ltd., which develops web-based project management software, has raised $7 million in its first financing round. Benchmark Capital and Carmel Ventures made the investment.

Based in Kfar Saba, Clarizen was founded in 2005 by CEO Avinoam Nowogrodski and VP R&D Tanya Epstein. The company is developing a Web 2.0 application for project management and the sharing of information among employees. Project management software is ostensibly simple to develop, but when a large number of people are involved and require regular updates, the software can become quite complex. The company’s solution enables real-time updates via the web for the dissemination of information among all participants in a project both within an enterprise and outside.
