The Israeli start-up was formed by one of the founders of Check Point.
Data security application company Imperva Inc. has signed an agreement for the deployment of its SecureSphere web application firewall on the Japanese online foreign currency exchange platform Gaitame.com. The contract is believed to be worth a few million dollars but is nevertheless a significant strategic move for the company. Imperva's system will protect the Gaitame delivery platform from application attacks including cross-site scripting and SQL injection.
Gaitame, which was founded in 2002, provides private investors with online trading services in 17 different currencies. Imperva was founded in 2002 by CEO and Check Point founder Shlomo Kramer. The company develops data security and compliance applications that offer protection against data theft and abuse, and ensure data integrity. Imperva has raised $33.7 million to date.
