Amdocs in deal with biggest Latin American mobile co

A Brazilian mobile provider has deployed the Amdocs Partner Settlement Manager.

Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX) today announced that it has deployed the Amdocs Partner Settlement Manager at Brazilian mobile provider Claro for the support of content partnerships and expansion of the company's value-added services portfolio. Amdocs did not disclose the size of the contract, but market sources believe that it amounted to a few million dollars.

Claro is a subsidiary of America Movil (NYSE; BMX: AMX; Nasdaq: AMOV; LATIBEX: XAMXL), the biggest mobile company in Latin America. Claro has 28 million customers in Brazil. Amdocs said that its Partner Settlement Manager would enable Claro to automate and centralize manual data settlement processes and help support a growing number of content partnerships with increased operational efficiency, enabling the company to quickly launch competitive content services and generate new revenue sources.

Amdocs VP corporate communications Charles Born said, "The Amdocs partner settlement product helps service providers develop a more attractive platform for their partners and roll out new content and services, increasing customer satisfaction and adding to the bottom-line. As the market innovates and revenue growth from traditional voice services decreases, leading providers like Claro utilize Amdocs Partner Settlement Manager to be able to better capitalize on the growing customer demand for content."

Amdocs closed at $34.01 yesterday, giving a market cap of $7.1 billion. The company will publish its financial report for its first fiscal quarter of 2008 on January 22.
