Israeli healthcare VC fund hires investment team

Dr. Dalia Megiddo raised $70 million and now has hired a team to find companies.

New established 7Health Ventures has named its investment team, six months after announcing the raising of $70 million. 7Health Ventures chairwoman Ruth Wertheimer-Pick, the daughter of Stef Wertheimer, led the round. 7Health Ventures managing partner is Dr. Dalia Megiddo.

The investment team, are partner Limor Sandach, principal Amir Zaidman and venture partner Ephraim Heller. Sandach was a principal at Evergreen Venture Partners, where she handled life sciences under Ruth. Prior to that, she was VP at Naiot Venture Accelerator. She has a B.Sc. in chemical engineering and an M.Sc. in engineering from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology.

Zaidman was formerly VP at Ofakim Hi-Tech Ventures. Prior to that, he was marketing manager for Flash Networks Inc. and co-founded the mobile-entertainment division at Comverse Technology Inc. (Pink Sheets: CMVT). He is a lawyer with a BA in Law from Tel Aviv University and MBA from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

Heller was a co-founder of TheraSense and is the chairman of IntelliDX Inc. (formerly Glucon), which is developing a device for alerting hyperglycemia (high blood sugar) in patients.

"Globes": What are you bringing to 7Health Ventures?

Sandach: "Each of us has his or her own reputation and connections, and most important, we're all very nice people."

Zaidman: "Obviously, I have to prove myself in this industry, and I'll do it. Besides, each of us has been on the money side and the industry side. We know how to work both sides."

7Health Ventures plans to invest in 12 seed-stage through late-stage start-ups. The company has made one investment so far, in medical device company .
