The wireless backhaul company will also open new offices in two African countries.

Wireless backhaul solutions provider Ceragon Networks Ltd. (Nasdaq: CRNT; TASE:CRNT) announced a $1.5 million order in Africa. It also reported it would open new offices in Nigeria and South Africa.

Ceragon described its moves as expanding its footprint in Africa. The deal it signed was for its high-capacity trunk solution, FibeAir 3200, which will be deployed in Africa by a leading international carrier.

Ceragon's new offices are in Lagos, Nigeria and in Johannesburg, South Africa.

Ceragon president and CEO Ira Palti said, "As one of the leading players in the high-capacity mobile backhaul market, we believe that we should have physical presence in two of the fastest developing mobile countries in the world." Palti added, "As Africa is a project-oriented region, having local representation allows us to join forces with local partners throughout southern and western Africa. This way we can offer our existing and newest customers, complete turnkey projects with excellent control and close follow-up."

Other African customers for Ceragon's high-capacity wireless backhaul solutions include Botswana Telecom and Milicom Tanzania.

Tel Aviv-based Ceragon develops and markets high capacity wireless backhaul solutions that enable wireless service providers to deliver voice and premium data services, such as Internet browsing, music and video applications.
