NICE wins EMEA law enforcement deal

The contract is the third worth over $10 million that NICE has signed in 2008.

NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) has won another deal valued at over $10 million, this time from a law enforcement agency in the EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) region.

The deal is the third contract worth over $10 million that NICE has signed in 2008.

NICE said the EMEA law enforcement agency will use NICE's solutions to enhance citizen safety and security. Project revenue is expected to contribute to 2009 financial results.

NICE's solutions allow the collection and analysis of both telephony and Internet data for law enforcement, intelligence, and internal security organizations.

"We are very happy to announce another 8-digit security deal for NICE as proof-point for the success of our strategy to focus on and win large-scale security projects," said NICE Security Group president Israel Livnat.

Earlier this week, NICE reported that a leading US utility, Atlanta-based Southern Company, expanded its implementation of NICE SmartCenter in order to create a more integrated, comprehensive contact center technology environment. Southern Company will replace competing recording and quality management solutions, and will also add screen content analytics.

Ra'anana-based NICE develops and markets software for the analysis of unstructured multimedia content and transactional data from telephony, web, email, radio, video, and other data sources.

NICE's shares closed at $21.09 on Nasdaq yesterday, giving the company a market cap of $1.27 billion. The share fell 0.7% at the opening on Nasdaq today to $20.95. The share rose 2% on the TASE today to NIS 82.57.
