Source: It would be better for another party to share in MIRS' decision-making.
"MIRS Communications Ltd. believes that it is important to find a partner in order for its UMTS project to succeed," a source involved in the matter told "Globes". "We believed that we needed a partner for the WiMAX project, and we think that we need one for UMTS. We want a partner not only for the investment, but for other reasons as well. It would be better for another party to share in MIRS' decision-making."
The source said that MIRS was pursuing its 3G project based on UMTS technology, and that the company was doing what it had to for its own good. The fact that Motorola Inc. (NYSE: MOT) is considering selling MIRS, or finding a partner for it, means that MIRS should continue business as usual, because UMTS is the company's technological future.
