Kitan sends employees on forced summer vacation

Kitan insisted that there will be no layoffs.

Textile plant Kitan Dimona Ltd. has sent 300 employees on a forced summer vacation which will last for the rest of July and possibly all of August too. The factory will not be fully closed with warehouse and sewing workshop staff continuing to work.

Kitan CEO Esther Eldar told "Globes," that the company was not going onto a shortened work week but was rather taking advantage of the summer vacation so that employees would not lose wages. She also insisted there will be no layoffs.
