NICE CEO Shani appointed to head Finance Ministry

Minister of Finance Steinitz will submit Shani's appointment to the cabinet for approval.

Minister of Finance Yuval Steinitz today officially appointed NICE Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: NICE; TASE: NICE) CEO Haim Shani as the next director general of the Ministry of Finance. He will take over from Yarom Ariav in October.

Shani has a B.Sc. in industrial engineering and management from the Technion Israel Institute of Technology, and an MBA from INSEAD in France. He has been CEO of NICE since 2001. Prior to that, he held executive positions in high-tech companies, including general manager of Applied Materials Israel, and various positions at Orbotech Ltd. (Nasdaq: ORBK), including VP marketing and business development and president of the company's Asian and European units.

The Ministry of Finance said that Steinitz will submit Shani's appointment to the cabinet for approval in a few weeks.
