Sources inform ''Globes'' that Playtech Cyprus Ltd. (AIM:PTEC), controlled by Teddy Sagi, has supplied gaming equipment to a newly opened casino in Bucharest. The new casino is owned Africa-Israel Investments Ltd. (TASE:AFIL; Pink Sheets:AFIVY), controlled by chairman Lev Leviev.
Playtech develops online gaming technology. The equipment sale was handled by wholly-owned subsidiary Videobet Ltd., which manufactures high-tech gaming machines for leading gambling companies. The company sells hundreds of machines a year, and is currently participating in tenders for the sale of thousands more.
Videobet has already supplied its betting machines to casinos is the UK and Italy. In the present deal with Leviev, it sold 25 machines to the AFI Palace Cotroceni. The facility is a large mall, which includes entertainment such as casinos and an IMAX movies theater, owned by Africa-Israel subsidiary AFI Europe NV.
Each machine costs between $2,500 and $15,000 depending on the applications requested by the customer.
Playtech's share closed at ₤3.70 on London’s Alternative Investment Market (AIM) on Friday.
