Amdocs angels invest in freelance work-search start-up

CrowdIT was founded in 2008 and has also attracted investment from IT guru Yossi Vardi.

AfterDox Angels Investment Group, comprised of present and former top executives of Amdocs Ltd. (NYSE: DOX), has invested several hundred thousand dollars in CrowdIT Ltd..

The company, founded in 2008 by CEO Liran Kotzer, product manager Gil Pal and R&D manager Ami Dudu, is developing DoNanza, a new vertical search engine for the freelance market. Donanza is a platform, which enables people from all over the globe to find online work on the web, which matches their skills, knowledge and interests. CrowdIT has previously attracted investment from famed IT guru Yossi Vardi.

Kotzer said, "There are many sites offering projects that can be implemented from home in exchange for money paid online. Our product DoNanza knows how to locate and offer services according to the customer's requirements. For example, if a software specialist is interested in projects paying more than $30 an hour, those are the offers that he will receive."

In addition to products currently operating mainly in the US and UK, CrowdIT is soon planning to launch a new product that will enable their technology to be installed on external sites. The start-up is negotiating with a number of customers who are interested in the product.

AfterDox has previously invested in Toda!Cell, which aims to become a provider of carrier-free premium mobile advertising hosted (SaaS) solutions, and Fenavic Ltd., which is developing support automation solutions.
