France's Ingenico adopts Orpak fueling device worldwide

The two companies have entered a joint venture for developing unmanned fuel station systems.

O.R.T Technologies reported today that its subsidiary (70%), Orpak Systems (AIM:ORPK) Systems, has entered into a joint venture with Ingenico for distribution of unmanned payment terminals for unmanned fuel retailing.

Orpak manufactures automatic refueling systems, and provides support for computerized systems for fueling and for management of service stations.

French company Ingenico is known mainly as a competitor of VeriFone, which acquired Israeli company Lipman in 2006 for $790 million. In the collaborative venture with Orpak, the two companies will initially develop a payment terminal that can be integrated into existing fueling systems, and that will incorporate Ingenico's secure payment technology.

"We have completed development of a product called Secure Outdoor Payment Terminal, and we have reached an agreement with Ingenico, which will adopt our device as its standard device worldwide, chiefly in Canada and the US," Orpak CEO Alex Milner told "Globes" today.
