The number of available jobs for high tech employees rose 30% in the third quarter of 2010, compared with the corresponding quarter of 2009, employment placement agency Jobinfo reported today.

However, Jobinfo reported an 8% fall in demand for high tech workers compared with the preceding quarter of 2010. The fall is explained by seasonal factors including the summer vacation and Jewish holidays, which occurred all in the quarter ending this Thursday.

Jobinfo expects an overall rise of 10% in demand for high tech employees in 2010 compared with last year.

The company saw a 12% fall in recruitment of employees in the hardware sector with many companies not taking on employees because of the Jewish holidays. On the other hand, in the software sector, there was a 10% rise in recruitment in the third quarter of 2010 compared with the preceding quarter, despite the holidays.

Jobinfo also reported that senior executive salaries, which have fallen significantly over the past two years, registered a slight change in the trend direction in the second quarter of 2010, with small rises in salaries, especially in the sales and development sectors.
