Tue: Tel Aviv 25 Index slips below 1,700 points

Bezeq, Bank Leumi and Bank Hapoalim led the losses today.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 1% to 1,690.72 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.91% to 1,465.09 points, and the BlueTech 50 Index fell 0.82% to 372.73 points. Turnover was NIS 1.3 billion.

In the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative exchange rate at NIS 3.875/$, up 0.052% on yesterday's rate, and set the shekel-euro representative exchange rate at NIS 4.232/€, down 2.103%.

In the bond market, the corporate bond benchmark Tel-Bond 20 Index fell 0.17%.

In the stock market, Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.39% on the day's biggest trading turnover, and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 2.84% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index. Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) fell 1.94% and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) fell 1.87%. Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) was down 1.19% and Ormat Technologies Inc. (NYSE: ORA; TASE: ORMT) fell 2.10%.

After losing ground yesterday, Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT; TSX: GZT) rose 2.32% for the biggest gain today on the Tel Aviv 25 Index. Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) rose 1.63%, Azrieli Group Ltd. (TASE: AZRG) rose 1.13%, and Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) rose 1.01%.
