Mon: Israel Corp. fails to dampen TASE

Israel Corp. fell sharply after Bank Leumi, which rose today, sold its stake in the company.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.20% to 1,718.07 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.22%, to 1,482.75 points and the BlueTech Index rose 0.26%, to 358.63 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index was unchanged at 321.55 points. Turnover totaled NIS 1.79 billion.

On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel dollar representative rate down 0.291% from Friday's rate at NIS 3.772/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set 0.056% down, at NIS 4.135/€.

On the market, Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) fell 5.09% for the biggest decline on the Tel Aviv 25 Index on the day's biggest trading turnover after Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) sold its 5.2% stake in it. Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) fell 3.93%. Bank Leumi, however, rose 1.51% on the sale, and Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 1.9%.

Melisron Ltd. (TASE: MLSR) rose 2.84% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) rose 1.91%. Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) rose 1.76% and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.22%.
