Wed: Tel Aviv 25 Index down 9% in past year

Opko and Teva led the losses while Gazit-Globe led the gains today.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.21% to 1,450.90 points; the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.20% to 1,270.11 points; and the BlueTech Index fell 0.39% to 356.99 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.07% to 320.22 points. Trading turnover was NIS 865.4 million. The Tel Aviv 25 Index has fallen 9% in the 5776 Jewish year.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate up 0.320% from yesterday's rate at NIS 3.758/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set up 0.081% at NIS 4.212/€.

On the market, Opko Health Inc. (NYSE: OPK; TASE: OPK) fell 2.71% for the biggest loss on the Tel Aviv 25 Index. Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 1.23% and Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) fell 1.91% on the day's biggest trading turnover.

Gazit-Globe Ltd. (NYSE: GZT; TASE: GZT; TSX: GZT) rose 2.14% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 index today and Melisron Ltd. (TASE: MLSR) rose 1.78%.

Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) rose 0.72% and its energy exploration and production units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling LP (TASE: DEDR.L) rose 1.43% and 1.89% respectively.
