Sun: Banks boost TASE

Leumi and Hapoalim rose strongly along with Cellcom and Partner.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange rose today. The Tel Aviv 35 Index rose 0.73% to 1,422.48 points; the Tel Aviv 125 Index rose 0.79%, to 1,292.17 points; the BlueTech Global Index rose 1.42% to 373.30 points and the TelBond 20 corporate bond index rose 0.35% to 334.29 points. Trading turnover was NIS 713.8 million.

On the foreign currency market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.333% on Friday at NIS 3.593/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate was set down 0.247% at NIS 4.002/€.

On the market, Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) rose 2.125 on the day's biggest trading turnover. Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) rose 1.74% and Mizrahi Tefahot Bank (TASE:MZTF) rose 1.77%.Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) rose 1.90%.

Cellcom Israel Ltd. (NYSE:CEL; TASE:CEL) rose 3.28% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index. Partner Communications Ltd. (Nasdaq: PTNR; TASE: PTNR) rose 3.27% and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.87%. Tower Semiconductor Ltd. (Nasdaq: TSEM; TASE: TSEM) rose 3.03% and Alony Hetz Property and Investments Ltd. (TASE: ALHE) rose 2.65%. Perrigo Company (NYSE:PRGO; TASE:PRGO) fell 1.17% and Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) fell 1.04% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index.
