IAF Held Series of Maneuvers in Turkey in Cooperation with Turkish Air Force

The aircraft operated for a week out of Turkish bases. Further Israel Air Force maneuvers will be discussed during the Turkish Minister of Defense’s visit to Israel.

The Israeli Air Force held a series of maneuvers in Turkey in cooperation with the Turkish Air Force over the past few months. Israel’s most advanced combat aircraft participated in the maneuvers.

Squadrons of F-15, F-16 and Phantom aircraft stayed a week at Turkish Air Force bases, functioning as regular squadrons on the bases. One of the F-15 pilots who participated in the exercises told "Globes" that he was very impressed with the operational skills of the Turkish pilots.

A senior IAF source confirmed the report. According to him, the exercises were very useful for both air forces and symbolize the strengthened ties between the two most advanced air forces in the Middle East.

Further joint air maneuvers will be discussed during Turkey’s Minister of National Defense Turhan Tayan’s visit to Israel as a guest of Minister of Defense Yitzhak Mordechai.
