VGI Israel develops biological liquid fertilizer

Desert agriculture specialist Shaul Sela headed the development team for the product.

VGI Israel, controlled by the Sela family, will display its innovative new biological fertilizer at the 15th International Agritech Exhibition in Tel Aviv on September 1518. Estimates of the fertilizer’s commercial potential are high.

The liquid fertilizer, KF 20, was developed in the company laboratories at a cost of over $2 million. Desert agriculture specialist Shaul Sela headed the development team for the product.

The fertilizer is being sold as a concentrate, to be mixed with water in irrigation for various crops. It is considered a smart fertilizer, because it both feeds the plant and fertilizes the soil. Another advantage is that only two liters of the concentrate is required to fertilize one dunam (0.25 acres).

Sources inform “Globes” that Netafim is currently considering the marketing of the new product as an accessory to its irrigation system being marketed around the world.
