The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) rose today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index rose 0.54% to 1,464.16 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index rose 0.64%, to 1,258.69 points and the BlueTech Index rose 0.54% to 295.47 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.01% to 307.42 points. Turnover totaled NIS 1.22 billion.
On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate down 0.051% from yesterday's rate at NIS 3.953/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate down 0.346% at NIS 4.296/€.
On the market, Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) rose 3.73% for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index, after yesterday's gain of 4%. Parent company Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 2.49%. Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 1.74% on the day's biggest trading turnover and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) rose 1.16%. Frutarom Industries Ltd. (TASE: FRUT; LSE:FRUT; OTCBB:FRUTF) rose 2.17%, ending its downward correction of the past few days.
However, energy stocks tempered the bullish market today. Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fell 1.27% and its energy exploration and production units Avner Oil and Gas LP (TASE: AVNR.L) and Delek Drilling Limited Partnership (TASE: DEDR.L) fell 1.97% and 1.05% respectively - the former was the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index today. Isramco Ltd. (Nasdaq: ISRL; TASE: ISRA.L) fell 1.86%.
