Wed: Bezeq declines on bearish TASE

Bezeq, Delek and the banks led today's declines but Elbit Systems bucked the market.

The Tel Aviv Stock Exchange (TASE) fell today. The Tel Aviv 25 Index fell 0.59% to 1,406.31 points, the Tel Aviv 100 Index fell 0.58%, to 1,219.87 points and the BlueTech Index fell 0.19% to 324.19 points. The TelBond 20 corporate bond index fell 0.05% to 318.12 points. Turnover totaled NIS 1.07 billion.

On the foreign exchange market, the Bank of Israel set the shekel-dollar representative rate up 0.801% from yesterday's rate at NIS 3.777/$, and the representative shekel-euro rate up 0.009 at 4.336/€.

On the market, Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Co. Ltd. (TASE: BEZQ) fell 3.03% for the biggest fall on the Tel Aviv 25 Index and Delek Group Ltd. (TASE: DLEKG) fell 1.16%.

The banks were deep in negative territory today with Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI) down 1.51% and Bank Leumi (TASE: LUMI) down 1.46%. Israel Discount Bank (TASE: DSCT) fell 1.10% and First International Bank of Israel (TASE: FTIN) fell 1.61%.

Elbit Systems Ltd. (Nasdaq: ESLT; TASE: ESLT) rose 1.23% today for the biggest rise on the Tel Aviv 25 Index, while Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. (NYSE: TEVA; TASE: TEVA) rose 0.30% on the day's biggest trading turnover. Israel Chemicals (TASE: ICL: NYSE: ICL) halted several days of heavy falls, rising 0.06% and parent company Israel Corporation (TASE: ILCO) rose 0.86%.
