Israeli start-ups to meet Silicon Valley investors at IVA conference

Four of the largest venture capitalists will participate in the IVA - Israel Hi-Tech Conference - Santa Clara 2005 in Silicon Valley: the State of California, Grove Street Advisors, HarbourVest Partners, and Government of Singapore Investment Corporation.

Four of the largest venture capitalists will participate in the IVA - Israel Hi-Tech Conference - Santa Clara 2005 in Silicon Valley on November 10. They are the State of California, Grove Street Advisors LLC, HarbourVest Partners, and, for the first time, Government of Singapore Investment Corporation Pte Ltd, (GIC).

Entrepreneurs, start-ups, and Israeli venture capitalists will meet top US investors and venture capital fund managers and technology company executives in order to find possible partners and create investment and acquisition opportunities.

Important participants include SAP executive board member Shai Agassi, KLA-Tencor chairman Ken Levy, Microsoft VP business development Daniel Lewin, Computer Associates SVP information security Ron Moritz, Novellus Systems president Sasson Somekh, Yahoo! COO Dan Rosensweig, California State Controller and CalPERS board member Steve Westly, Broadview International president Alec Ellison, and Globe Street Advisors founder and managing partner Clinton P. Harris.

Israeli participants include top venture capitalists, such as Vertex Venture Capital founder and managing partner Yoram Oron, Carmel Ventures founders and general partners Shlomo Dovrat and Avi Zeevi, Evergreen Partners managing partner Erez Shachar, BRM Capital managing director Eli Barkat, Veritas Venture Partners founding partner Yadin Kaufman, and Pitango Venture Capital co-founder and managing general partner Rami Kalish.

First-time participants include Mercury Interactive Corporation (Nasdaq:MERQE) founder and CEO Amnon Landan, and Electronics for Imaging Inc. (Nasdaq: EFII) CEO Guy Gecht, who will talk about what is required of an industry leader in Silicon Valley.

The conference will close with a gala celebration in honor of Cisco Systems president and CEO John Chambers organized by the Israel California Chamber of Commerce.
