The IDF Homefront Command tested the innovative armor in ballistic trials.
Israel Military Industries Ltd. (IMI) has developed an innovative armor to protect roofs against Kassam rockets. IMI developed the armor in response to a call for submissions by the IDF Homefront Command to Israel’s defense companies. After testing the armor in ballistic trials, Homefront Command approved its use to protect buildings in range of Kassam rockets.
IMI CEO Avi Felder said the successful development was the result of many trials and simulations. IMI engineers developed a unique composite of materials for an inexpensive but effective application for all types of roofs in an especially short time, and attractive architectural lines.
