Dov Weisglass confirmed as Bezeq chairman

Weisglass, director of the Prime Minister’s Bureau under Ariel Sharon, replaced Moshe (Mori) Arkin.

Bezeq Ltd.’s (TASE: BEZQ) board of directors yesterday approved the appointment of Eli Mizroch as deputy CEO for strategy and business development. He comes to Bezeq from Bank Hapoalim (LSE: BKHD; TASE: POLI), where he was manager of the marketing and strategic planning department of the Retail Division.

Bezeq CEO Yacov Gelbard said, “There is no way to minimize the importance of strategy and business development, especially in the rapidly changing telecommunications sector.”

Bezeq’s board also approved the appointment of Adv. Dov Weisglass as chairman, replacing Moshe (Mori) Arkin, who was appointed when Ap-Sab-Ar Holdings Ltd. (the Apax Partners-Saban Capital Group Inc.-Arkin consortium) took over the company in October 2005. Weisglass previously served as director of the Prime Minister’s Bureau under Ariel Sharon.
