Digital video solutions provider Optibase (Nasdaq: OBAS) announced today that it will provide its IPTV solution to Hungarian Internet service provider, TVnet, which is upgrading its Internet and telephony services. The value of the deal was not disclosed although market sources believe it to be worth $1 million.

The collaboration between Optibase and TVnet was made possible through Ring Net Telecommunications Ltd, a systems integration company active in Eastern Europe. Optibase’s MGW 5100 solution, which encodes live video and transcodes from DVB satellite feeds, will speed up the roll-out of IPTV infrastructure in Hungary.

Headquartered in Israel, Optibase operates through its fully owned subsidiary in Mountain View, California and offices in Japan, China, India and Singapore. Optibase products are marketed in over 40 countries through a combination of direct sales, independent distributors, system integrators and OEM partners.
