Shari Arison meets Ukraine president

Victor Yushchenko is pleased by the concrete results from his November visit to Israel.

Shari Arison met Ukraine President Victor Yushchenko yesterday to discuss investment by Arison Holdings Ltd. in the country.

Bank Hapoalim (TASE: POLI; LSE:80OA) chairman Dan Dankner and Arison Holdings CEO Efrat Peled were also present.

According to Ukraine news agencies and Russian news agency "Interfax" Yushchenko said that he was pleased by the fact that thebilateral agreements signed with Israel during his visit to the country in November 2007, particularly regarding the development of bilateral collaboration and business ties, were yielding concrete results. Local news agencies added that Yushchenko expressed his hope for fruitful cooperation between the sides.

A press release by Yushchenko's office said, "President Yushchenko welcomed company’s coming to Ukrainian market. Among the promising investment directions, he named projects within preparation to EURO 2012, agricultural sector, etc."
