An amphitheater, inscribed with the names of the 3,000 victims, and statue will be built at Givat Alona.
The Jerusalem Local Planning and Building Commission has approved a memorial for victims of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the US. The memorial will comprise an amphitheater, inscribed with the names of the 3,000 victims, and a statue will be built at Givat Alona, an area slated for a forest and national park overlooking Emek Ha’arazim and the Ramot Forest, at the western approaches of Jerusalem.
The Jerusalem municipality views the memorial as a project of national importance relating to US-Israel ties.
